Synopsis
Nos Amours...
The Saga of the Montreal Expos
Nos Amours: The Saga of the Montreal Expos follows the battle to save the club through the eyes of filmmaker Robbie Hart and three equally passionate, longtime fans. Both poetic and political, the documentary highlights not only the Expos struggle to stay alive but key moments in the baseball club's 35-year history.
As the nation's first major league team, the Expos were once the darlings of baseball across Canada. But in the late 90s, the team fell on hard times and Major League baseball has tried to relocate the club and contract them out of existence. It's been a rollercoaster ride for dedicated fans like Robbie Hart. In addition to his personal narrative, Nos Amours: The Saga of the Montreal Expos includes:
Katie Hynes, a lifelong season ticket holder who actively battles to save the club through petitions, rallies and a visit to City Hall; Claude Charron, a former Quebec cabinet minister and current broadcast journalist who has loved baseball since he was 16 and understands the Expos saga inside out; and thirdly, Bill Lee, a one-time Expos player who provides a humorous, philosophical look at the team and the sport of baseball.
The film, which was shot over a four year period, takes viewers into their personel stories while exploring the unique relationships that can exist between fans, a team and a city.
