Synopsis

CANADA’S NATIONAL WOMEN’S SOCCER TEAM IS ON A MISSION.
To win the most important soccer tournament on the planet – the World Cup. But history is against them. In 75 years of international soccer, no Canadian team men or women, has ever won a single World Cup match. Filmed across Canada and the United States over a six month period, IT’S A GREAT GAME follows the team on and off the field as they gear up for the big tournament. Part road story, part human drama, the documentary also delves into the lives of several of the players exposing the often tough realities that come with their soccer dreams… from bruising injuries and long hours training to their disjointed family lives and lost teenage years. Finally at the World Cup, the doc’s drama and suspense comes to head as the girls play their hearts out in pursuit of gold, making Canadian soccer history in the process.
